George Tupper first discovered a Roman Villa while ploughing in 1811. The site has now been welcoming visitors for over 200 years and continues to this day.

Bignor Roman Villa has some of the most breathtaking mosaics outside of Italy and a unique atmosphere created by our wonderful Georgian covering buildings. In fact, much of our visitor experience is the same today as it was 2 centuries ago.

 

Bignor Roman Villa is still owned by the Tupper family who have been custodians of the site for nearly as long as the Romans!
